Similiar restrictions have been placed on the road near the office of the Vice President and the Chinese Embassy. The Police traffic office warns that violators of the order will be arrested and prosecuted.
In a related development, boda-boda riders have been banned from carring more that two passengers on one bike. The Assistant Inspector General for Traffic, Lt. Gen Bol Akot Bol says this order also take immediate effect.
“There is no law that says three people can share one Boda Boda. Because of sharing one Boda accidents occur. On Tuesday there people all died on one boda-boda. So I directed that no Boda Boda is allowed to carry three people. If they are found they will be arrested and taken to court.”
