REPOST from Radio Miraya@Facebook – 5 JUNE 2019
The Ministry of Roads and Bridges has secured US$2mln from the State of Kuwait to finance a feasibility study for construction of the Juba-Bor-Malakal-Renk road.
The highway is part of an ambitious national infrastructure project linking the national capital to remote areas.
The Minister of Roads and Bridges, Rebecca Joshua Okwaci says construction work will begin once an initial assessment on the project has been completed.
In a related development, construction of the Juba-Terekeka-Yirol-Rumbek highway has started.
Traffic is being diverted through Jebel-Ladu in Jubek.
The roadworks are financed through an oil-for-infrastructure agreement with the Chinese government.
