The Ministry of General Education has announced the second phase of a cash transfer program for primary and secondary school girls.
Starting this week 288,000 girls from primary five to senior four across the country will receive direct payments of four thousand pounds each annually, under the Girls Education South Sudan Program (GESS).
The program will run for the next five years with funding from the United Kingdom.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of General Education, Kuyok Abol Kuyok says the objective is to increase girl enrollment and retention in schools.
