[ NEWS ] RADIO MIRAYA: The South Sudan Red Cross Emergency Response Teams are being deployed to respond to emergencies during Christmas and into the New Year

The South Sudan Red Cross is dispatching mobile teams of 20 volunteers to different locations in Juba.

Red Cross Communications Manager and Resource Mobilizer, Marial Mayom the volunteers will give first aid response for accident and other emergency related cases.

“For 2018 we have mobilized 20 volunteers and first aid officer and they are going to cover from 24th December to the 2nd January 2019. And they work is to move around Juba during the festive season.”

Marial says similar arrangements have been made in Bor, Wau, Yambio and Maridi. He says a hotline has also been set up for the public to call and report emergencies.

“In case of any emergency during the festive season, the telephone number is 0921115955. We are there for the general public during the festive season in case of accidents just call the South Sudan Red Cross and We are ready to respond.”
