The South Sudan Athletics Federation (SSAF) has confirmed to KurraSport on Sunday 9th February 2020 that they have selected ten (10) athletes who are going to be representing South Sudan in African Cross Country Championship in Lome Togo in April 2020.
All the athletes were selected on Saturday 8th February 2020 during the 2nd South Sudan National Cross Country in Buluk, with all the participants coming in from all the states as per confirmation from the SSAF Secretary General.
According to the South Sudan Athletes Federation (SSAF) Secretary General Mr. Marco Akol, the selected athletes will go to the camp and have enough preparation before going to Togo for the cross country.
Mr. Akol also confirmed that the team will be camped in Torit with the help of the Torit Athletics Association chairperson Mr Mubarak Ruben Emmy. The athletes who will be in camp fifteen days from now will be overseen by national team head coach Mr. Ali Fajlu

However, according to the finishing line time, may of the athletes did not make it to the official time required something the coach and other technical committee members have to on achieving it before they travel to Lome, in the 10 Kilometre race, Yusuf Nyok 31:30.92 John Abouj 31:42.96, Otomri Kasuk 32:03.38, while in the 2KM race for Men, Yaj Majok 5:27.24, Santino Saman 5:32.07 and in the 2KM race for Women, Memi Simon 7:04.88, Rohana Ayak Malol 7:05.89
South Sudan will only be two ladies representing the country in April’s event, with Memi Simon 7:04.88, Rohana Ayak Malol 7:05.89 being the only ladies to look at during the African Cross Country Championship in Lome Togo in April 2020.
David Kulang Gonji, who won Bronze for South Sudan in the East Africa Half Marathon Championship in Massawa Eritrea on Friday 7th February 2020 in a 1:07:00 clock mark is also part of the team
